Victorian Papier Mache Table. Papier Mache, black Japan, mother of pearl, oil paints

The table had recently suffered due to a minor accident. The losses were missing entirely. Previous repairs were evident, though these were executed well and the overall condition was very good. A mould of the losses was taken, the losses then cast in gesso. This was then glued in place with hide glue. The repair was then hand coloured and polished. Bronze powder was then applied to complete the decoration.
