Brazilian Rosewood Davenport

English Davenport, Brazilian Rosewood veneer on Oak, circa 1845.

This English Davenport is in excellent original condition with turned Corinthian columns and finely veneered surfaces. The davenport features a pierced ormolu gallery.

Due to the delicate nature of the veneer, the davenport had suffered areas of damage, the leather slope was paint spattered and the finish was dirty. Loose sections of veneer were consolidated and the leather slope and timbers were cleaned to conservation standards and then waxed to preserve the original patina.
